La corsa agli Emmy Awards 2018 è iniziata oggi. Sono state rese note le nomination del premio che celebra la miglior tv a stelle e strisce, che quest’anno si svolgerà il 17 settembre. Guidano la carica dei nominati lo storico Saturday Night Live e Westworld, a quota 21 candidature. La seconda stagione della serie di Sky Atlantic si aggiudica anche la nomination come miglior drama, categoria prestigiosa che la vedrà battagliare con The Americans, The Crown, Il Trono di Spade, il vincitore della scorsa edizione The Handmaid’s Tale (che ha raccolto 20 nomination), Stranger Things e con This is Us, l’unica tra le presenti ad essere trasmessa su un canale generalista Oltreoceano, la NBC.

La rete del pavone porta a casa 78 nomination, scalzata da Netflix (112) e HBO (108). Unica serie generalista candidata come miglior comedy è, invece, Black-ish di ABC, che ironizza sulle differenze tra bianchi e neri d’America e si prepara a sbarcare su Italia1 nella prossima stagione. All’appello dei nominati (quinto show più nominato con 18 candidature) non manca The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story che, a sorpresa, vale a Ricky Martin la nomination come miglior attore non protagonista in una miniserie o tv movie (pensiamo che la sua prova sia stata deludente).
